The data backup system STH-Backup (version 2.0): The design of the STH-Backup system is entirely made and supported by St-Hyacinthe Informatique. The backup is fully automated according to a preset schedule, no daily intervention is required. The backup is done locally before being copied onto removable media or another server. The previous backups are kept locally on the server to a preset number. The restoration does not require the removable media except in cases of disaster and can be done directly through a read-only shared backup directory (access permissions among users can be set accordingly). A statistic sheet is generated for each backup, it gives an evaluation of system performance and amount of storage volume used.
